When you think of a village house in Spain with gorgeous views in a village which retains the Spanish traditions this is the house that you think of.  Set in Oria village which has several mini supermarkets, butcher, pharmacy, garage, a school and a handful of bars.  The village retains it’s character with andalucian tiled steps and even has it’s own castle. Oria also has a municipal swimming pool which is open June to September and is free to use.  The bigger town of Albox is 25 mins drive away on an excellent road.

The house is nestled into the hillside which helps keep it cool in Summer and warm in Winter.  Detached with a private garden big enough for a trampoline and relaxing space AND a huge roof terrace and cave seating area.  The cottage looks over Oria village, across the almond groves towards the mountains in the distance.  Due to how it is placed it is very private, you are not overlooked at all.

After parking your car in the private car parking space right next to the property (a bonus in Oria village) you walk up to the front gate and enter the mature garden.  Part paved with trees and greenery giving a sense of privacy and shade.  The cave seating and roof terrace is accessed up some steps from this front garden.

The front door is Andalucian blue, the downstairs windows have rejas for additional security and they look lovely too.  All part of the Andalucian tradition.  The cottage contains many elements from its 100 year plus history.  The retention of the stone and wood detailing retains the full character of the cottage.

Take a step inside and you will be in the kitchen diner.  This is decorated in traditional colours and with feature wooden beams and sympathetic lighting making it very welcoming and homely.  There is plenty of space for a large fridge freezer, integrated dishwasher (included) and large range style cooker as well as an extensive range of modern kitchen units.  On the end wall is open shelving as is traditional in these cottages.

Turning left you find bedroom 2 which is a good sized double with space for storage and a desk.

On the opposite side of the kitchen step through an arch to find bedroom 3 which is a cave room which means it will retain the same temperature year around and the main family bathroom.  The family bathroom doubles as a utility room and includes a bath and shower along with loo and wash basin.  A new gas boiler provides the hot water for the house.  It has mains electric, mains water and mains sewage.

Next, take the stone steps up to the large lounge.  Having the lounge upstairs gives you even better views of the surrounding countryside.

On the far side of the lounge is a large master bedroom with en suite.   Wake up each day to the sunrise shining in the window.  You could also choose to rotate the bed for a more typical layout.  The built in wardrobe is a recent addition and retains the stone and wood which is so evident throughout this cottage.

The en suite bathroom is Sage green, a lovely fresh lively colour.   Again there is a bath with shower over, perfect for a long lazy soak.  Lots of floor space so that the bathroom is a really lovely space to be in.

All windows are double glazed and have been recently installed.  There are 2 wood burners, one upstairs and one down for heating on the few chillier evenings.

Access to the cave seating area, roof terrace and main garden is also possible from the lounge.

In addition to all of this and parking, there is a large shed or workshop next to the car parking.  This is big enough to house a log delivery and still be sufficient storage for a family.

The whole house and garden feels serene and peaceful, just what you are looking for with your move to Spain.  The garden is low maintenance with mediterranean planting.
