Remember the story about the ugly duckling? This property is a bit like that, you have to be able to see the swan inside to truly appreciate it.
Sit back with a cuppa whilst I paint you a picture. Imagine the walls painted white, attractive rejas on the windows (the traditional grilles that protect the windows, they date from the 15th century) along with some blue shutters.
You walk into a grand hall way which is open plan to the cosy snug on one side with a bedroom/office to the left. Walking through you reach the main lounge in the centre of the house for optimum temperature control. So it will be cool in Summer and warm in Winter. a further woodburner here for colder days with the flue rising through the upper floor to heat it as well.
Turn right and you will be in the kitchen, now all one level, with the utility section to your right and leading into the pantry which is now accessed through a taller door. The kitchen itself extends toward the back of the house and now has an archway to the dining area. The dining area now has double doors which open out onto the olive grove behind. You may be able to purchase the larger olive grove – I know the owner so can ask him if you would like to.
The family bathroom is accessed off the hall way leading from the kitchen, further along the hallway is a further bedroom which leads out into the internal courtyard (where the anumal pens once were). There is a doorway out to the front to make it easy to bring your shopping in or bicycles and sports equipment. The garden room doubles as a store for your outdoor activity gear.
Going upstairs, from the hallway by the kitchen you see 3 large bedrooms, 2 of which have an ensuite. The front bedroom has extensive views down the valley over the orchards and both an en suite and dressing room. The two other bedrooms are at the rear of the property, once more overlooking the olive grove. One of which is en suite.
Outside the patio has attractive new fencing so is perfect for children or dogs. You also have a lovely outside kitchen for BBQ’s and outdoor entertaining. Two shade sails are attached to the house and outdoor kitchen (or you could do a pergola and have grape vines growing across it. They thrive in the Spanish climate.
That’s my first idea of how to renovate and slightly reconfigure. The roof and beams seem sound so the works are relatively minor and could be done by any local builder. Maybe you have the skills yourself to add some plasterboard walls?
Many other configurations are possible. A floorplan will be added for you to take a look at. We can also produce revised floorplans complete with furniture outlines if you would like to see your ideas in practice?
Currently this is a 4 bedroom property with the upper floor considered a store room. Each of the current four bedrooms are a big double. Once you convert the upper floor (maybe in similar fashion to my idea above) you will have lots and lots of space to do with as you please.
There is a small plot of land to the rear, and to the front which are both included in the sale along with a large car garage with additional storage at the front.
Additional land may be able to be purchased or rented if you want it.
Take a look at the pictures, let your imagination run wild and let me know what you would do with it.
