Almeria province is renowned for being one of the sunniest places in Spain. It has over 330 days of sunshine each year. This may sound too good to be true but I can assure that it has been the case for the last 4 years. Locals and friends who have been here longer than me say that it is true for most if not all of the last 20 years. So perhaps the rain does stay on the plain, as the old rhyme...
